We’re extending established principles to a new context — which is reasonable, but not the same as having direct evidence.


What the Research Does Not Tell Us

A few important gaps:

Long-term decision satisfaction: Most decision quality research measures short-term outcomes. The long-term relationship between decision process quality and life satisfaction is poorly studied.

AI-specific effects: Very little controlled research exists on whether AI-assisted decision-making produces better outcomes than structured non-AI decision processes. This is an active area of investigation.

Individual differences: Decision-making is substantially moderated by individual factors — risk tolerance, cognitive style, attachment patterns, cultural context. General frameworks need calibration to individual circumstances.

The honest summary: the research provides a strong theoretical basis for structured, deliberate decision processes and reasonable grounds for AI-assisted implementation.
